When you test products for a living, you become passionate about which brands you buy for yourself and which brands you recommend to your friends and family. In all the years I've worked at Reviewed, there's one brand that I'm a self-proclaimed evangelist for. That's the Big Blanket.

Ever since I first tested the brand's Big Blanket in 2019, I've been hooked and stock up on almost every new release they release. This year, I had the opportunity to try out the brand's Big Bedding suite, which includes sheets, comforter, duvet cover, and two pillowcases.

After testing the Big Bedding suite over the past 8 months, I can confidently say that this is the best bedding my partner and I have ever slept on. Here's why:

What is a big blanket?

As you might have guessed, Big Blanket is known for its extra large blankets, measuring 10 feet by 10 feet. The Big Blanket is large enough to drape over a king-sized bed, sofa, floor, or picnic area, and in the four years I've owned it, not a single thread has come loose. My favorite version is the Original Stretch, which is made from an incredibly comfortable blend of polyester and spandex. I also tried the Premier Plush Blanket, and while it's not as comfortable as the original, it's a great blanket for those who prefer a plush style.

What is big bedding?

In 2023, Big Blanket introduced its first bedding line (known as Big Bedding), which included sheets, pillowcases, comforters, and duvet covers. According to the brand, this bedding is 25% larger than standard sizes in both size and depth.

Big Bedding suites come in only four sizes: Queen, King, Split King, and California King.

What we like about Big Bedding

Big Bedding is inviting, comfortable and, of course, huge.

It's amazing and huge

It's no surprise to hear that Big Bedding is actually pretty big. My height is only 5 feet 2 inches, while her husband's height is 6 feet 1 inch. This means that even if you have standard king-sized bedding, your feet may still pop out of the sheets at night. Big Bedding has no such problems. The fitted sheet fits snugly on a king-sized bed, but the top sheet is large and hangs on either side of the mattress, so there's plenty of room to kick your feet up and not worry about it. Space on the sheet is lost.

A comforter and a cover are the same thing. My husband and I often wrap ourselves in futons, so we sometimes end up buying up all the futons in the middle of the night. However, this is not the case with large bedding. Lots of extra duvets so we both have enough burrito ingredients.

The sheets are getting cold

When Big Blanket says the sheets are cold, it's not kidding. I tend to sleep hot and sweat with almost every sheet set I own, but for the first time I didn't sweat with the Big Blanket sheets. These sheets were a game changer for me this summer.

Big Bedding comforters come with snap-on ties for easy assembly.

I love owning duvets, but I've gotten burned in the past by duvet covers that don't fit. For several years we had a Buffy comforter and every week we had to unwrap the cover and readjust the comforter to prevent it from bunching up. The Big Blanket uses snaps to connect the duvet and cover rather than tying the duvet and cover together. This has made a big difference in how often he leaves the two apart at night. I still have to readjust my duvet every few weeks, but it's much less frequent than with my previous duvets from Kohl's and Buffy.

incredibly comfortable

After all, one of the most important considerations in bedding should be its comfort level. Big Bedding excels in this regard. The sheets are incredibly soft and have gotten even softer over the past few months. The cover is just as comfortable as the sheets, while maintaining the fluffy feel of the comforter. I'm very particular about duvet covers, and this one doesn't disappoint.

What I didn't like about Big Bedding

Large bedding sheets can quickly get out of hand.

Sheets may be: too much big

The sheets are perfect for my tall husband, but I'm only 5 feet tall and the fabric is a little too big for me to handle. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night, wrapped in sheets, and have no idea where the corner (or my body) is. You should also refold your sheets every morning to avoid bunching them up or having too many sheets on one side of your bed. For me, 25% might be a little too much for sheets (but duvets are perfect).

price tag

Big Bedding suites aren't cheap, but their prices are on par with competitors in the bedding space. Queen sheets are $179, and two pillowcases are $39 ($218 for both). For comparison, my favorite percale sheets cost $185. The duvet insert retails for $279, which is comparable in price to some of our favorite duvet inserts. Duvet covers are an additional $179. Buffy is only $125 and Brooklinen is only $149.

Complete bedding costs just under $700 for a queen ($800 for a king). That's a lot of money, but unlike competitors' products, you'll be paying an additional 25% for materials. It's also worth noting that Big Blanket often has sales, so if you shop at the right time, you can get cheap bedding. At the time of publication, the bedding set is 10% off, bringing the price down to $609.

Should I buy Big Bedding from Big Blanket?

The large bedding is so soft that even my cat is obsessed with it.

If you're looking to buy new bedding, Big Bedding is worth the splurge, especially if you're tall. The sheets and duvet cover are super soft and the comforter is fluffy and long lasting.

Reviewed does not store the products we test. After I sent the Big Bedding suite back, I immediately bought my own and have been using it every day since January.
