Quince Bedding Review: Sheets, Duvets & Comforters

Quince Bedding Review: Sheets, Duvets & Comforters

When I write reviews, sometimes the brands I'm testing are kind enough to send me products, but for my Quince bedding review, I actually bought everything myself. House BeautifulHere's why: When some people move to a new home, they bring everything from their previous home with them to minimize unnecessary expenses. But others use the move as an excuse to replace perfectly fine products they already own. Unfortunately, my credit cards fall into the latter category.

A few weeks ago, when I moved into my apartment in New York City, I threw out most of the bedding I had had for years. I wanted to get all my new bedding from the same store, be it at a reasonable price or without compromising on quality. So I went to Quince, which has quickly become my go-to store for almost everything. I have Quince cashmere sweaters, a Quince carry-on suitcase, and now Quince bedding.

I purchased a duvet cover and 3 different sheet sets. needs I have three sets and I like to change up the weaves and fabrics with each season. It's been two weeks and I've shared my thoughts on all my Quince belongings. First, let me answer some of the most asked questions about the brand on the internet.

Why are quince so delicious?

To me, Quince is an incredible brand: so luxurious (just look at the materials they use) yet so affordable. I thought there must be some hidden meaning, but there really wasn't. The brand eliminates all luxury markups, both in production and purchase, so even cashmere isn't exorbitantly priced. Also, as a minimalist, I love Quince because everything is so simple. You won't find bright colors or loud patterns here.

Why is Quince so affordable?

According to Quince's website, the brand's low prices are primarily due to its direct-to-consumer model, which you might assume isn't because the brand uses cheap materials to make its products. Instead, the company sources its products directly from manufacturers (all made in ethical factories), cutting out the traditional supply chain that includes warehousing, wholesale, and delivery.

Now, let's talk about the product itself.

I didn't buy this out of desire, but out of necessity. I moved in with my boyfriend who always uses a duvet. However, I've only ever slept on blankets and quilts, so I compromised and bought a duvet. The duvet filling is also from Quince, if you're curious! First off, let me just say that the duvet is amazing. It's a premium duvet, so it may not be for those who like to sleep warm, but I like it cozy (not too hot, not too cold), so I love it.

I researched duvet covers for three full days before deciding to buy one. I wanted something that felt like linen but was a little softer and less likely to wrinkle, so I bought the Linen Bamboo cover. I'm serious when I say I read all the Quince duvet cover reviews. From all of the reviews, I chose the Linen Bamboo cover. As the name suggests, this cover is a blend of two materials. You get the coolness of both, with the softness of bamboo and the look of linen. It also has ties on the inside to secure your duvet to the duvet cover, and a row of buttons on the side to keep the duvet cover closed. These elements work together to keep your duvet in place.

To be honest, I don't like linen sheets, but several of my coworkers raved about them, especially in the summer, so I bought them. I slept on them for a full week before passing judgment, and while I was pleasantly surprised, they're still not my favorite. That doesn't mean they're bad or anything; I just prefer super soft sheets like pure bamboo (I have Cozy Earth bamboo sheets and love them). Linen sheets are softer and a little scratchier than linen clothing, but they're not silky smooth, and they wrinkle quite a bit after just one day of sleeping on them.

That said, I slept in these during the dreaded 2024 heat dome that soaked the Midwest and Northeast in truly brutal temperatures, and I have to admit they were comfortable. The linen sheet set includes a fitted sheet and two pillowcases, and is breathable and cool (a natural property of linen). Feel free to purchase the set with a flat sheet as well, as I did.

I knew I would like these sheets because I have a set of Cozy Earth bamboo sheets and haven't used any of the Brooklinen satin sheets since. In fact, the satin didn't even come to my new apartment (I didn't throw them out, I gave them to a friend). The Quince bamboo sheets are a little thinner than what I'm used to, but that's one of the reasons I like them. I probably won't use them much in the winter because they're not very warm, but I plan to use them all summer. These sheets are great because they have just a little bit of stretch to them, which makes them even softer. The reason these sheets are soft is because they're made from 100% viscose bamboo (pulp), which is a little more luxurious than rayon.

I've been a percale fan for as long as I can remember. I've slept on them at home since I was a child, and I've slept on them all my adult life. These days, I call myself a bamboo devotee, but on colder days, I'm back to using a percale set. They're a Quince bestseller, and after sleeping on them for a year (I actually bought them last winter), I can see why. They're marketed as hotel-worthy sheets, and as a former travel writer who's used a lot of luxury hotel sheets, I can tell you they wouldn't be out of place in the world's most expensive suite.

It's a thick, crisp organic cotton, so if you tend to heat up while you sleep, this might not be for you. If not, you'll love it as much as I do, as it enhances the whole sleep experience. Also, if you change your mind after a few months and want to return the sheets, Quince bedding products have a one-year return policy.

Is Quince Bedding worth buying?

The short answer is yes, because you get premium materials at an affordable price. As you can tell from my Quince shopping, I am a fan of the brand, but if I had to pick a favorite bedding product, it would be the bamboo linen duvet cover. This is also the product I was most nervous about. After all, I knew I didn't like linen, but I thought I would like it because it's made from bamboo. Not only do I like it, it's my favorite bedding! So It's a soft, dreamy color (it's a pale grey, so from a distance it looks almost white).

If you're not planning on buying a duvet cover, go for percale sheets. Percale sheets have a classic feel and are meant to please. So if you know your tastes and want something foolproof, choose percale sheets. On the other hand, if you love linen, choose linen sheets. They're cool, breathable, and have that classic linen weave that people love. No matter which Quince sheets you buy, you're sure to love them.
