Silk & Snow has changed my bedtime routine for the better

Silk & Snow has changed my bedtime routine for the better

We spend a third of our lives in bed. I'm sure you've heard this many times. But as important as sleep is to our brains and bodies, it took us a long time to discover luxury bedding. I was fine with my $48 Target satin sheets (which are fireproof and soften over time, by the way), but nights sleeping on substandard quilts and second-rate duvets were a pain. why? Maybe it's because it feels like every DTC luxury bedding company that's launched in the past decade has been trying too hard. However, after 10 years, I finally gave in. I can't believe it took this long. Young guns, don't wait. Invest in bedding and sleep now.

One brand that helped me see the light is Silk & Snow. Silk & Snow is a Canadian brand that champions quality materials, sustainable sourcing, and transparency in customer care so you know exactly what you're getting into every night. I've been sleeping with Silk & Snow for two months now and I have to say I'm already in love. Here's an overview of what I've tried and my honest review of it.

Silk & Snow Lightweight Down Comforter Insert

I'm extremely hot and sleepy, but I especially want to stay warm during the day. (To the chagrin of my colleagues, I keep my apartment at 72 to 75 degrees until I turn on the air conditioner and sleep at 65 to 66 degrees.) Even in the middle of winter, the temperature in my apartment remains the same. Even if it's 65 degrees, it's still warm. It is very likely that you will wake up sweating.

I'm also very particular about my weight when I'm sleeping. It would be ideal if you could stay comfortable without touching anything, but sleeping uncovered can be very uncomfortable. I know I'm a bit Goldilocks-ish, but I can't help how I feel. Luckily, Silk & Snow's lightweight down comforter is near perfect for me.

If I could do it without going down, I would. However, I have tried synthetic duvets before and they almost suffocated me. So we appreciate that Silk & Snow uses traceable and ethically sourced Hutterite duck down from Alberta, Canada. The lightweight duvet has a 700 fill power, 18 ounces (24 ounces for all seasons), and a 100% cotton shell. When I say this feels like a cloud, I mean it. It's very soft and light, but also feels very comfortable when falling asleep.

Has my hot sleeper problem been resolved? Not a chance, but I don't think so anything That would be the case, except maybe an industrial fan would blow cold air onto my bed. But this is definitely one of the best duvets I've ever used, and one of the most luxurious. Sure, it's fun to crawl into bed with this.

What else do you need when you sleep? The softest, silkiest cotton sheets ever. I don't want anything with even the slightest grain, so I turned to Egyptian cotton sheets from Silk & Snow. It's pretty smooth and soft after the first wash, but it gets even better over time, getting softer and smoother with each subsequent wash. I also like Egyptian cotton duvet covers because I don't use top sheets that often.

I love the muted, dusty colors that Silk & Snow offers, so I chose the Tempest Blue set. It has a neutral gray vibe, which I love for bedding, but it's a little more vibrant so it feels like an easy design detail.

Silk & Snow Flax Linen Bed Sheets

Please stop this issue immediately – I please do not Like linen sheets. I don't know why you'd want to sleep in a burlap sack when you can choose cool, smooth cotton. But some people like it, and her husband has been begging me to try it for a while.

So what does one do? Of course, buy him a set to try while I'm out. He enjoys the texture of linen, so he particularly liked Silk & Snow's linen linen sheets, which contrast well with the satin duvet cover.

Will you catch me sleeping on something like this? Not a chance. However, if you love linen sheets, you should definitely give it a try. And at least my husband can still use a pillowcase when I'm around.

Silk & Snow Silk & Snow Pillow

My neck is a mess. After sitting in front of a computer for a week, it feels like my skull is crushing my spine. He's tried everything: two pillows, a flat pillow, a foam pillow. I also tried an adjustable pillow that was highly recommended in another publication and it was terrible. I returned it a week later. Then, when I saw that Silk & Snow had a pillow, I thought, “What the heck?” I'll try this. ”

Has my tech neck completely healed? The pain doesn't really go away until I have a breezy vacation week where I can barely sit. But this pillow has reduced my pain and made my sleep 10 times better.

I have never seen a pillow like this before. The 100% cotton cover features a down-like microfiber filling, making it as soft and airy as a duvet. The core is then filled with shredded memory foam that can be adjusted to your preference. I took out a little too much the first night and felt the pillow was too flat, so I added a little more the second night. Since then, I haven't had to make any adjustments and no longer wake up with severe neck pain. Truly the best pillow I've ever owned.

My bath towels really needed a refresh and Silk & Snow's luxurious Egyptian cotton terry towels were just that. It's thicker than any towel I've ever owned and has a hanging loop for easy storage and drying (which doesn't seem like a big deal, but every brand should take note). This is a game changer). Treat yourself to this little luxury.
